Volvo Penta's revolutionary IPS drive, or Inverted Propulsion System, has introduced new levels of performance in diesel drive units.
The forward facing propellers provide huge advantages in efficiency, turning radius, and boat control. The rotating drive sits below the hull, rather than attached to the transom, and pulls the boat through the water much like a propellor pulls an airplane.
This IPS was removed from a 45ft. Fountain pleasure yacht.
